Canada Coalition (WIFT-CC)<\/strong> in conjunction with <strong>Reel Families for Change Canada<\/strong>, have released the results of the <strong>Family Care Report<\/strong>\u2014a cross-Canada survey that explores the impact of COVID-19 on child and family care for women in Canadian screen industries.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wiftcanadacoalition.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/TFCP_WIFT_Final_English.pdf\">Download the Family Care Report<\/a> \/ <a href=\"https:\/\/wiftcanadacoalition.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/WIFT-Family-Care-Project-News-Release-EN-October-12.pdf\">Download the press release<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The report concludes that the federal government should immediately call for an industry round table to begin discussions with unions and employers on the goal of implementing changes to federal labour tax credit policy to support childcare and family care by 2024, while simultaneously addressing the critical need to implement balanced and equitable working conditions in the Canadian production industry<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-201-3\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-has-style\" ><div class=\"shadow panel-row-style panel-row-style-for-201-3\" ><div id=\"pgc-201-3-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-201-3-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"3\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<p><span style=\"color: #c13f54;\"><strong><span style=\"font-size: 36px;\">Deciding On Diversity<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>A new WIFT Canada Coalition study explores\u00a0the impact of COVID-19 on efforts to advance equity, diversity and inclusion in the Canadian film and TV industry\u00a0.<\/strong><em>The study\u00a0<\/em>finds that despite the opportunities COVID-19 presents to do things differently, the Canadian film and television industry remains characterized by uneven, closed and defensive networks and relationships\u2014to the disadvantage of equity-seeking groups.\u00a0The report calls for a national screen industry data taskforce to inform organizational and policy decision-making and challenge the widely held risk perceptions that act as barriers to diversity and inclusion.
